We Need Braver Leaders and More Courageous Cultures

Dare to Lead

The world is desperate for daring leaders who are self-aware, know how to have hard conversations, hold themselves and others accountable, build trust, lead with empathy and connection, take smart risks that lead to innovation, reset quickly after disappointments and setbacks, and give and receive feedback – especially when it’s tough.

Based on Dr. Brené Brown’s 20 years of research, Dare to Lead™ helps individuals, teams and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.

Dr. Brown’s research revealed that courage is a collection of these four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable:

  • Rumbling with Vulnerability:   Facing risk, uncertainty, and emotional exposure with courage and clarity.
  • Living into our Values:   Identifying, operationalizing, and practicing the beliefs that we hold most important.
  • BRAVING Trust:   Creating or deepening connections in relationships and teams based on the seven elements of trust.
  • Learning to Rise:   Learning and growing from the failures, setbacks, and disappointments that are inevitable when we are brave with our lives.

The Dare to Lead™ program develops these courage-building skills through workshops and coaching.  Workshops range from one hour introductory sessions to the full program delivered in two-hour, half or full-day sessions.  Cheryl Smith Bryan, an ICF certified coach and a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, will design a customized approach based on your needs.

Individuals who successfully complete the full Dare to Lead™ program will receive a certificate of completion and a Dare to Lead™ Trained badge for their LinkedIn account.
